Long Exposure Photography

My next topic that I am going to write about is Long Exposure.
Long Exposure photography is a very fun topic. Long exposure photography is capturing an image by letting the shutter of the camera be open for a long time, this means that more light will be taken in. By doing this you can create pictures using light, also known as light painting, and you can create images that blur.

Here are some examples;

  • Ansel Adams

Kaleidoscope Effect

A kaleidoscope effect is something that you can create in Photoshop.
To create  it you have to take a section of an image and then reflecting and rotating that section to create a image. This effect looks best when you have four copies of the one section.
This effect is good to use in Natural forms because it creates pattern and makes the image harder to work out what it is.

Editing Your Images

When editing your photos you have to be careful in this topic because too much editing losses the naturalness of the image.
In Photoshop the best things to use when editing are; Dodge tool, Burn tool, Black and white, and Reverse colour. Theses are the best tools to use because they make subtle changes and enhance the subject making it stand out more.

This is an example of Black and White;

Natural Forms

Natural Forms can be quite a boring topic, therefore you need to be creative.
You need to think of unusual angles and compositions to make you photo stand out.
Looking and capturing textures and patterns, can be easy way to create an interesting picture.

First Topic

I'm going to start with Natural Forms.
This topic covers everything that is natural, from leaves to fossils to animals. The only natural thing that doesn't appear in this topic is people.
In this topic it allows you to use the macro feature on your camera (it's a flower symbol), although you don't have to!
The macro feature allows you to take close up images in a lot of detail, it is a great way to shoot flowers and small plants or berries.

Here's two examples of the macro feature:
